As mentioned earlier, people of Northern India believed that they are referred to as a warrior class. Historically speaking, warrior
classes are routes where all invasions in India have routed. Through these routes, Muslim
invaders entered India under the leadership of Muslim King Babar.
During the invasions period, the prowling of properties and raping of females are common. Indian girls who were raped are abandoned by their fathers and husbands.
Part of the dating customs in Northern India is the arranged marriage of both parties by their parents. Indian parents would first
look for a suitable match for their son or daughter. If both Indian male and female come to like each other,
they should say “yes” or “no” in the succeeding days. From here, dating immediately
starts.
In cases of love marriages, the Indian boy and girl need
to seek first the approval of their parents before proceeding to their marriage. In most cases, the father of
Indian girl gives the approval even if it is against his will. This is to avoid eloping event wherein the
girl will escape with boy, which would give a bad name to the family eventually. If the Indian girl marries
an Indian boy without the approval from her father, her younger sisters will find difficulties in getting a
match.

especially during selection of a date. During the marriage, the father of the bride needs to give heavy gifts
to the relatives of the groom. These gifts are known as Dowry. In Bania community of India, the amount of Dowry depends on the expenses incurred on the education of the
groom or his earnings. This practice of giving gifts is illegal but still continues over the
years.
